Description complète
Anbernic RG Rotate: vertical arcade finally full screen
The RG Rotate is a pocket Android console whose square 720 × 720 IPS panel rotates on itself. Vertical shoot'em ups and portrait-mode arcade cabinets get their original format back, with no black bars. Under the hood, a Unisoc T618 chip running Android 12: the emulation level is high, but the console has no analogue stick at all, which changes everything for 3D games.
What it does
- A square screen that rotates: 3.5-inch IPS panel, 720 × 720, fully laminated and touch-enabled, switching from landscape to portrait. An ideal format for vertical arcade and for the two stacked screens of the Nintendo DS.
- Comfortable emulation up to PSP: the Unisoc T618 chip (2 × Cortex-A75 at 2.0 GHz and 6 × Cortex-A55, Mali-G52 GPU at 850 MHz) runs 8- and 16-bit systems, the PlayStation 1, the Nintendo 64, the Dreamcast, the Nintendo DS and the PSP at full speed.
- Android 12, therefore open: 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and a microSD slot. You install the emulators, front-ends and streaming apps of your choice.
- Fully equipped: Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 for an external controller, six-axis gyroscope, vibration motor and interchangeable high L2/R2 triggers.
What it doesn't do
- No analogue stick at all. This is the limitation that decides the purchase: the Nintendo 64, the Dreamcast, the PSP and the 3D PlayStation 1 games technically run at full speed, but are played on the D-pad or with a Bluetooth controller. Games that demand a precise stick are not comfortable on the console alone.
- GameCube and PlayStation 2: light titles only. The full library is not playable and the result stays inconsistent from one game to the next.
- Wii, Wii U and Switch are out of reach, whatever emulator you install.
- Sega Saturn and Nintendo 3DS remain partial: some titles start, no result is guaranteed.
- The 1:1 screen imposes its format: 16:9 PSP games are heavily letterboxed, 4:3 games are framed by side bars.
- Neither a 3.5 mm headphone jack nor a video output: wired audio goes through a USB-C adapter, and the console does not connect to a television.
- The stated weight is not consistent from one source to another (282 g and 320 g on the Anbernic side, 167 g and 204 g in independent measurements): we are not settling the matter.
- Supplied without games, in compliance with the law.
Skill level required
No soldering, no disassembly. The console boots into Android 12 as it is. It is not preconfigured for emulation, however: you have to install the emulators yourself from their APK files, organise your game folders on the microSD card and set up a front-end. Allow an evening of setting up if this is your first Android console, and plan on a Bluetooth controller if you are aiming at 3D games.

The screen rotates, the format follows the game
The square 720 × 720 IPS panel switches from landscape to portrait in a second. Vertical shoot'em ups and portrait-mode arcade cabinets are shown in their original format, with no black bars and no rough rotation. The square also helps the Nintendo DS, whose two stacked screens fit just right. In return, the 16:9 PSP games stay letterboxed: the format works no miracles.
What you really play on it, and at what cost
The Unisoc T618 holds full speed on the 8- and 16-bit systems, the PlayStation 1, the Nintendo 64, the Dreamcast, the Nintendo DS and the PSP. The GameCube and the PlayStation 2 are limited to light titles, the Wii and the Switch are out of reach. And you have to factor in the complete absence of an analogue stick: on 3D games, a Bluetooth controller is not an accessory, it is a necessity.
Android 12: setting it up is on you
The console boots into Android 12 with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, but it does not arrive preconfigured for emulation. You choose your emulators, your front-end and your settings, and you organise your folders on the microSD card. That is the freedom of Android, along with the evening of setting up that comes with it. Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 for the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions
🎮 Up to which system does the RG Rotate really emulate?
At full speed: NES, Master System, Super Nintendo, Mega Drive, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, classic arcade, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Nintendo DS and PSP. Beyond that, we are in partial territory.
⚠️ Do the GameCube and the PlayStation 2 run?
Light titles only, and inconsistently from one game to the next. The full library is not playable. The Wii, the Wii U and the Switch are out of reach: do not buy this console for those systems.
🕹️ Why is there no analogue stick?
It is a design choice tied to the rotating mechanism: the RG Rotate only has the D-pad, the face buttons and the triggers. For the Nintendo 64, the Dreamcast, the PSP or the 3D PlayStation 1 games, plan on a Bluetooth controller.
🔄 What is the rotating screen actually for?
For displaying games designed in portrait full screen: vertical shoot'em ups, vertical arcade cabinets, some NEC titles. The panel rotates and the image follows. 16:9 games such as those on the PSP stay letterboxed.
🎧 Can I plug in wired headphones?
Not directly: the console has no 3.5 mm jack. Wired audio goes through a USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter. Bluetooth 5.0 also lets you use wireless headphones.
📺 Can you play on a television?
No. The RG Rotate has no wired video output. It is designed for playing on the move on its own screen.
🚚 What are the delivery times?
Delivery in 10 to 18 days, ships within 3 to 5 days.
🛡️ What guarantee applies?
2-year legal guarantee of conformity. 14-day returns.
Why buy here rather than on a marketplace
It is a fair question. Here is the answer, straight.
Every listing is checked before publication: chip, screen, systems actually emulated, condition on delivery. Many models that come out never make it into the catalogue.
A question, a firmware problem, a return: you write, a human replies within 1 business day. In French.
The 2-year legal warranty of conformity is handled by us — not by a form on the other side of the world. And 14 days to change your mind, with no need to justify yourself.
We do not claim to be the cheapest. We claim that you will know exactly what you are buying before you pay.
