Acrylic display case: keep your collection safe from dust

A retro collection spends more time on a shelf than in your hands, and that is where it picks up dust, fingerprints and knocks from the vacuum cleaner. This clear acrylic display case assembles without tools and encloses a clean space around a figure, a handheld console, a controller or a stack of cartridges. More than 40 sizes are available, from the 15x15 cm cube to the 30x30x40 cm volume: you choose the box that fits the item, not the other way round.

What it does

• Dust barrier: five solid panels sitting on a base, so the displayed item no longer needs cleaning every month.
• Dry assembly: panels put together by hand, with no glue or screws, and can be taken apart to change the displayed item.
• Visible from four sides: clear acrylic lets you see the item from every angle, unlike a closed storage box.
• Sizes to choose from: bases from 25x10 to 30x30 cm and heights from 10 to 40 cm, for a single figure as well as for a console on its stand.

What it doesn't do

• It is not a secure display case: no lock and no locking system.
• The manufacturer does not claim any UV filtering. An item exposed to direct sunlight can yellow: keep the case out of strong light.
• The box is not airtight. It does not protect against humidity or temperature changes, and does not replace a desiccant sachet for a fragile item.
• No lighting, inner stand or figure holder is included.
• Acrylic scratches more easily than glass: clean with a dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth, never with alcohol- or ammonia-based products.
• Display case sold empty: the figures, consoles and accessories shown in the manufacturer's photos are not included.

Compatibility

The display case is a neutral volume: it suits anything that fits inside, such as figures, statuettes, retro handheld consoles, controllers, cartridges and game boxes, and scale models. The dimensions shown in the variant selector correspond to the base (width x depth) followed by the height. Measure your item before ordering and allow a centimetre of margin on each dimension: the panels slot together, so the usable space is slightly smaller than the stated dimension. A retro handheld console and its controller generally fit on a 20x15 cm base; a tall figure needs a 15x15 cm size at a height of 35 or 40 cm.

Skill level required

None. The display case arrives flat, in separate panels protected by film. Peel the film off both sides of each panel — this is the longest step — then assemble everything by hand. Allow five to ten minutes. No tools, no glue, no cutting.
