Full description
Anbernic RG Cube: the T820 chip in a square format
The RG Cube is an Android 13 handheld built around a 3.95-inch square IPS touchscreen at 720 × 720. Inside, the Unisoc T820 chip and 8 GB of RAM run everything up to PSP and Nintendo DS at full speed, with an active cooling fan to keep the pace. Above that, it is case by case, and the square format comes at a cost on 16:9 games.
What it does
- Full-speed emulation up to PSP: 8 and 16-bit, arcade, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Nintendo DS and PSP run without notable compromise.
- A screen made for the Game Boy: Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, almost square, fill nearly all of the 720 × 720 panel.
- Hall effect sticks and triggers: no mechanical contact, so no drift over time. The sticks have adjustable RGB lighting.
- A real Android machine: Android 13, 8 GB LPDDR4X, 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage expandable by microSD up to 2 TB, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0.
- Active cooling: a fan removes heat during long sessions on demanding systems.
- USB-C video output: connect the console to a TV or monitor in 1080p via DisplayPort over USB-C.
- Fully equipped: multi-touch screen, six-axis gyroscope, vibration, dual speakers, 3.5 mm headphone jack and a 5200 mAh battery (up to 7 hours claimed by the manufacturer).
What it does not do
- GameCube and PlayStation 2: partial, never guaranteed. Light titles run, demanding ones do not — F-Zero GX remains unplayable, and several big PlayStation 2 games need per-game tuning. Do not buy this console for these two libraries.
- Wii: possible, but only with tuning. It is not plug and play.
- Wii U, Switch and PlayStation 3: out of reach.
- Sega Saturn: 2D works, 3D does not.
- Nintendo 3DS: partial, no result is promised.
- The square screen is not the native format of any home console. 4:3 games are shown with bars at the top and bottom, and 16:9 games — PSP first and foremost — end up small, surrounded by wide black bars.
- The Nintendo DS dual screen is shown scaled down on a 3.95-inch panel.
- The “with card” configurations add a microSD card, nothing more: RAM (8 GB) and internal storage (128 GB) are the same on every configuration.
- Shipped without games, in accordance with the law.
Compatibility
microSD cards up to 2 TB. TVs and monitors via USB-C DisplayPort in 1080p, with a compatible USB-C to HDMI cable or adapter (not included). Bluetooth controllers and headsets.
Skill level
No soldering, no disassembly. The console boots into Android 13. It does not arrive preconfigured for emulation: you need to install the emulators, organise your game folders and set up a front-end. The most demanding systems — GameCube, PlayStation 2 — also need per-game settings. Allow an evening to get started.

The real ceiling: PSP yes, GameCube it depends
The Unisoc T820 and its 8 GB of RAM handle everything up to PSP and Nintendo DS at full speed, Dreamcast and Nintendo 64 included, and the fan keeps performance from dropping after an hour. Above that, things get partial: GameCube and PlayStation 2 are limited to light titles, Wii needs tuning, Wii U and Switch are out of the question.
A square screen that picks its side
The 3.95-inch IPS panel at 720 × 720 is a true 1:1 format. Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, almost square, fill it; 4:3 games keep bars at the top and bottom; PSP's 16:9 games end up small. Two drift-free Hall effect sticks and a gyroscope round off a compact grip.
Android 13: needs setting up, but no limits
128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage, a microSD slot up to 2 TB, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and 1080p USB-C video output: the RG Cube is a complete Android machine. Emulators, front-ends, streaming, Play Store games: install whatever you like. In return, nothing is preconfigured on arrival; the first evening goes into building your setup.

Frequently Asked Questions
🎮 Up to which system does the RG Cube emulate at full speed?
8 and 16-bit, classic arcade, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Nintendo DS and PSP. That is the comfortable ceiling of the Unisoc T820 chip, the same one as in the RG406H.
⚠️ Do GameCube and PlayStation 2 really run?
Partially. Light titles run, demanding ones do not: F-Zero GX remains unplayable and several big PlayStation 2 games need per-game tuning. Wii only works with tuning. Wii U, Switch and PlayStation 3 are out of reach.
📐 Which games benefit from the square screen?
Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, almost square, fill nearly the whole panel. 4:3 games (Super Nintendo, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64) keep bars at the top and bottom. PSP's 16:9 games lose out the most: they are shown small, surrounded by wide black bars.
💾 What is the difference between the configurations?
None on the console itself: all have 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The “with card” configurations add a 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB microSD card to store your files. Shipped without games, in accordance with the law.
📺 Can I play on a TV?
Yes. The USB-C port supports DisplayPort video output in 1080p. You will need a compatible USB-C to HDMI cable or adapter, not included, and a Bluetooth controller.
📱 Is the console ready to play out of the box?
It boots into Android 13, but it is not preconfigured for emulation. You need to install the emulators, organise your folders and set up a front-end. Allow an evening to get started.
🚚 What are the delivery times?
Delivered in 10 to 18 days, dispatched within 3 to 5 days.
🛡️ Which warranty applies?
2-year legal guarantee of conformity. Returns within 14 days.
Why buy here rather than on a marketplace
It is a fair question. Here is the answer, straight.
Every listing is checked before publication: chip, screen, systems actually emulated, condition on delivery. Many models that come out never make it into the catalogue.
A question, a firmware problem, a return: you write, a human replies within 1 business day. In French.
The 2-year legal warranty of conformity is handled by us — not by a form on the other side of the world. And 14 days to change your mind, with no need to justify yourself.
We do not claim to be the cheapest. We claim that you will know exactly what you are buying before you pay.
