USB to GameCube adapter: a USB controller on the original port
Original GameCube controllers wear out and are becoming rare. This USB to GameCube adapter plugs into a controller port on the console and accepts a wired USB controller in place of the original controller. No modification of the console: plug in and play.
What it does
- Console side: a GameCube controller port plug, to insert into one of the four ports.
- Controller side: a USB port for a wired controller.
- No modification: the console stays original, and the adapter unplugs like a controller.
What it doesn't do
- Not all USB controllers are recognised: compatibility depends on the model. If in doubt about yours, ask our customer service before ordering.
- The GameCube's analogue triggers and Z button have no exact equivalent on every controller: the button mapping takes some getting used to.
- It does not plug into the Wii Family Edition, Wii mini, Wii U or Switch, which have no GameCube controller port.
- The USB controller is not included.
Compatibility
GameCube, all models. First-model Wii consoles (RVL-001) have GameCube controller ports: the adapter plugs into them in the same way, for games that accept the GameCube controller. Not compatible with the Wii Family Edition, Wii mini, Wii U and Switch.
