Hall effect on the sticks and on the triggers
Both sticks and both triggers read a magnetic field. No part rubs, so nothing wears out: that is what prevents drift after a few hundred hours. The triggers stay linear, with full analogue travel, useful in racing and simulation. The D-pad and the upper triggers use ALPS switches.
The 1,000 Hz only applies when wired
Thunderobot states a 1,000 Hz polling rate. That figure applies to wired mode. Over Bluetooth as over 2.4 GHz, the controller drops back to 160 Hz, the level of an ordinary wireless controller. If responsiveness is your main criterion, plug in the cable.
What it isn't
It works on neither Xbox nor PlayStation. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack and no PC software: the M1 to M6 macros, the turbo, the vibration and the brightness are set through button combinations on the controller. The lighting is not 16-million-color RGB, but a two-color red and blue backlight.

Why this controller is in our catalogue
We check every controller before listing it. Many never make it in.
Every controller is checked before it enters the catalogue: the platforms it really works on, the technology of its sticks, what it does not do. Many models never make it in, because they do not live up to what they announce. What this one can do, and where it stops, is detailed further down this page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work on Xbox or on PlayStation?
No. Thunderobot only states PC, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS, plus Android TVs and boxes. Xbox and PlayStation consoles are not supported.
Does the 1,000 Hz work wirelessly?
No. The 1,000 Hz applies to wired mode. Over Bluetooth and over 2.4 GHz, the polling rate drops to 160 Hz.
Do you need software to program the M1 to M6 buttons?
No. There is no dedicated app. The six macros, the turbo, the five vibration levels and the five brightness levels are set through button combinations on the controller.
What is the real battery life?
The battery is 600 mAh. Thunderobot states around 10 hours depending on use, for a full charge in 3 hours or less. Vibration and lighting shorten that figure.
Are the triggers analogue?
Yes. They are linear Hall effect triggers: travel is progressive and contactless, which suits racing and simulation games.
Is there RGB lighting?
No, not strictly speaking. The right stick ring is two-color, red and blue, and the ABXY buttons are backlit. Brightness adjusts across five levels, but the colors cannot be chosen.
