It uses the same chip as our Nintendo-licensed SanDisk card without artwork, at the same 100 and 90 MB/s. In 256 GB, this one is 94.99 € against 39.99 € for the plain version. The gap pays for the Pokémon licence and the artwork, not for the speed.
What it doesn't do
It doesn't store games on Nintendo Switch 2, which only accepts microSD Express. It can't compete with a recent card: 100 / 90 MB/s against 190 / 130 MB/s for the SanDisk GamePlay. SanDisk documents neither an A2 rating nor a V30 class on this range.

Which consoles does it work with?

Why does the Pokémon card cost twice as much?
Because you are paying for the licence and the artwork. The chip is the same as the one in our plain Nintendo-licensed card, with the same 100 MB/s read and 90 MB/s write. In 256 GB, it is 94.99 € here against 39.99 € for the version without artwork. If the design does not matter to you, go for the plain version.
Does it work on Nintendo Switch 2?
No, not for games. Nintendo states that the Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express. A standard microSD cannot save or load games and save files. It is only used to import screenshots and videos from a first-generation Switch.
Is it faster than an unlicensed card?
No. At 100 / 90 MB/s, it is slower than our SanDisk GamePlay, stated at 190 / 130 MB/s with an A2 rating. The licence brings no performance gain; it guarantees artwork and Nintendo validation.
Which capacity should you choose?
256 GB covers an already well-stocked library with its expansions. The 512 GB is 174.99 € and the 1 TB 322.99 €: check the price per gigabyte before moving up in capacity in this range.
What is the warranty?
SanDisk states a limited lifetime warranty, under its own terms. It is not expressed in years, which is why the duration field is left empty in the spec sheet.
