SanDisk Extreme 1TB microSDXC card, front view
Description complète

The fast microSD for large game libraries

On an Android console or a handheld PC, the card is used to install and launch games, not just to store them. The SanDisk Extreme carries the A2 rating and claims 190MB/s read and 130MB/s write in 1TB, 160 and 150MB/s in 2TB. It is designed for 4K video and outdoor use.

What it does

  • Launches fast: the A2 rating speeds up Android apps installed on the card.
  • Copies fast: up to 130MB/s (1TB) and 150MB/s (2TB) write speed claimed, to fill the card without spending the evening on it.
  • Takes the knocks: SanDisk designs it for harsh environments, operating from -25 to 85 °C.

What it doesn't do

  • The claimed speeds are sequential read and write maximums: a console that does not support them will throttle them.
  • The A2 rating brings nothing on a Linux-based retro console that does not support it.
  • Some Linux-based retro consoles do not accept cards larger than 512GB: check before buying.
  • It doesn't store games on Nintendo Switch 2, which only accepts microSD Express.
  • Supplied without games, in accordance with the law.

Compatibility

Android consoles (Retroid, Anbernic Android, AYN), Steam Deck, ROG Ally, handheld PCs, smartphones and tablets, 4K cameras. On a Linux-based retro console, check the maximum capacity supported by the firmware before ordering.

What SanDisk says

1TB: up to 190MB/s read and 130MB/s write. 2TB: up to 160MB/s read and 150MB/s write. UHS-I interface, A2 rating, operates from -25 to 85 °C.

Which capacity to choose

1TB for a well-stocked Android console. 2TB for a handheld PC or Steam Deck that installs recent games weighing tens of gigabytes.

What it doesn't do

The speeds are maximums, and the A2 rating only helps if the device supports it. And no games on Switch 2, which only accepts microSD Express.

Ce qu’elle fait bien

  • A2 rating to launch Android apps from the card
  • 1TB: up to 190MB/s read and 130MB/s write claimed
  • 2TB: up to 160MB/s read and 150MB/s write claimed
  • Designed for 4K video and outdoor use

Ce qu’elle ne fait pas

  • Sequential read and write maximums, throttled by a slower device
  • The A2 rating brings nothing if the device does not support it
  • On a Linux-based retro console, check before buying that it accepts this capacity: some top out at 512GB, and FAT32 limits each file to 4GB
  • Doesn't store games on Nintendo Switch 2: that console only accepts microSD Express cards
  • Supplied without games, in accordance with the law

Frequently Asked Questions

⚡ Does A2 really matter on my console?

On an Android console that launches apps from the card, yes. On a Linux-based retro console, which mostly reads large game files, the gap with an A1 card is small.

💡 Does my console accept 1TB or 2TB?

Android consoles, the Steam Deck and handheld PCs do. Some Linux-based retro consoles top out at 512GB: check the firmware documentation.

🎮 Does it work on Nintendo Switch 2?

Not for games. The Switch 2 only accepts microSD Express cards to store and launch games. A UHS-I microSD like this one can only be used there to import screenshots and videos. On the original Switch, Switch OLED and Switch Lite, it works.

💾 Do I need to format the card before use?

Yes, in the device that will use it. For a Linux-based retro console, use the format required by the firmware (FAT32 or exFAT). Leave about 10% free space and never remove the card while it is writing.

📦 Does the card contain any games?

No. It is supplied blank, without games, in accordance with the law. Our Where to play legally page explains the legal ways to build your game library.

🔍 How can I be sure the capacity is genuine?

Our cards come directly from the SanDisk network. You can check it yourself with H2testw (Windows) or f3 (Linux, macOS): our guide on counterfeit cards explains how.

🚚 What are the delivery times?

Delivery in 10 to 18 days, shipped within 3 to 5 days.

🛡️ What warranty applies?

2-year legal guarantee of conformity. Returns within 14 days. The SanDisk manufacturer's warranty applies on top, under its own terms. Our customer service answers by email at contact@fun-esports.com.

Why buy here rather than on a marketplace

It is a fair question. Here is the answer, straight.

We verify, they list

Every listing is checked before publication: real read and write speeds, capacity, speed classes, compatible devices. Many models never make it into the catalogue.

Customer service that speaks French

A question about formatting, a card that will not mount, a return: you write, a human replies within 1 business day. In French.

2-year legal warranty, 14-day returns

The 2-year legal warranty of conformity is handled by us — not by a form on the other side of the world. And 14 days to change your mind, with no need to justify yourself.

The price is comparable, the rest is not

We do not claim to be the cheapest. We claim that you will know exactly what you are buying before you pay.
