Description complète
PSP AC charger: the console plugged back in, with no improvising
A PSP found in the attic almost always turns up without its mains adapter. And its charging port isn't USB: it's a 5 V barrel socket that no phone charger can stand in for any more. This unit takes over the role of the factory adapter, with a European plug that goes straight into the wall.
What it does
- Original connector: the barrel plug of the DC port on the PSP 1000, 2000 and 3000, with no adapter in between.
- European plug: goes into a French or European wall socket, with no travel adapter stacked up behind the furniture.
- Charge and play at the same time: the console stays usable while charging, just as with the factory adapter.
What it doesn't do
- This isn't an original manufacturer part: the finish, the markings and the cable length differ from the factory adapter.
- Doesn't power the PSP Go, which charges over USB, or the PS Vita, whose connector is different.
- Doesn't repair a tired battery: if the console no longer holds a charge once unplugged, it's the battery pack that needs replacing.
- Doesn't charge any faster than the original unit, and improves neither battery life nor the screen.
- This listing only offers the European plug version. No US plug version is sold here.
Compatibility
PSP 1000 (PSP Fat), PSP 2000 (Slim & Lite) and PSP 3000: these three models share the same DC power port. Not suitable for: the PSP Go (charged through a proprietary/USB port), the PS Vita and the PS Vita Slim. European-type wall socket (2 round pins), 220-240 V mains.
Skill level required
None. No disassembly, no soldering, no tools: you plug the unit into the wall and the connector into the console's charging port. If your PSP still won't come back on once plugged in, the problem is the battery or the charging port, not the charger — have a look at the spare parts section instead.

The mains adapter, the part that always goes missing
A PSP is often resold without its mains adapter. Yours disappeared in a house move, or it finally gave out after fifteen years of service. Without it, the console is just a brick: the PSP's charging port isn't USB, and no phone charger will do the job. This unit simply takes over the role of the factory adapter.
The right connector, the right plug
The PSP 1000, 2000 and 3000 charge through a 5 V barrel socket, a format nothing uses any more today. This charger reuses that connector and plugs straight into a French or European wall socket, with no travel adapter stacked up behind the furniture. You plug the console back in and play while it charges.
What it doesn't replace
This is a third-party mains adapter, not an original part carrying the manufacturer's stamp: the finish and the markings differ from the factory adapter. It powers neither the PSP Go, which charges over USB, nor the PS Vita, whose connector is different. And it doesn't repair a tired battery: if the console no longer holds a charge, it's the battery pack that needs changing.

No. The PSP Go charges through a proprietary/USB port and the PS Vita uses a different connector. This charger suits neither of them.
🔋 My PSP no longer holds a charge, will this charger fix it?
Not if the console works while plugged in but switches off once unplugged: in that case it's the battery that has reached the end of its life, not the power supply.

Yes, this is the European version with two round pins, for a 220-240 V mains supply. No US plug version is offered on this listing.
⚙️ Is this an original manufacturer part?
