PVR-802W optical block: getting a PS2 Slim reading again
A PS2 Slim that spins the disc without launching the game, returns to the menu or refuses DVDs often has a worn laser head. This PVR-802W optical block replaces the lens and diode assembly of PS2 Slim consoles that use this part number: a targeted repair, without changing the whole drive.
What it does
- PVR-802W part number: the optical block of PS2 Slim consoles in the SCPH-70000 to 90000 series, according to the supplier.

Skill level required
No cutting. You need to open the console with a Phillips screwdriver, remove the drive, unscrew the optical block from its rail, disconnect the ribbon cable without forcing and fit the new block. The ribbon cable is fragile and the diode is sensitive to static electricity: work while grounded. If the new block's ribbon cable carries an anti-static protection solder point, remove it with a soldering iron after connecting. Intermediate level.
