PS Vita 2000 analog stick: put an end to drift

A stick that drifts or no longer returns to centre spoils gaming on a PS Vita 2000. This part replaces the console's analog stick, model PCH-2000. The same part fits on the left or right: order two if both sticks are worn. It comes in black with a smooth cap, black with a ridged cap and white.

What it does

• Replaces a worn stick: drift, imprecise centre point or damaged cap.
• Left or right: the same part works for both positions.
• Three finishes: black with a smooth cap, black with a ridged cap (raised rings on top) or white, to match your console's colour.

What it doesn't do

• It doesn't fit the PS Vita 1000 (PCH-1000), whose sticks are different.
• The package contains a single stick: to replace both, order two.
• No tools are included.
• It doesn't repair a torn ribbon cable or a damaged connector on the motherboard.

Compatibility

PS Vita 2000, model PCH-2000 (the "slim" PS Vita). The model number is printed on the back of the console. The PS Vita 1000 (PCH-1000) is not covered.

Skill level

You need to open the console with a precision Phillips screwdriver and an opening spudger, disconnect the old stick's ribbon cable and connect the new one. No soldering. Intermediate level: the PS Vita's ribbon cables are thin, handle them gently.
