Neo Geo Pocket Color IPS screen: readable without hunting for light
The original Neo Geo Pocket Color screen has no backlight: you need a lamp or a window to play. This backlit 2.6" IPS screen keeps the original size and fits without cutting the shell. It is aimed at owners of an original-model Neo Geo Pocket Color who finally want to play in dim light.
What it does
- IPS backlight: the picture stays readable in a dark room, with no need to angle for a reflection.
- Original size: 2.6" like the screen it replaces, so the shell window stays the same.
- No cutting: no modification of the shell is needed to fit it.
What it doesn't do
- It is not suitable for the monochrome Neo Geo Pocket, nor for the slim version of the Neo Geo Pocket Color.
- It does not increase the resolution of the games: the console still displays its 160 × 152 pixels, simply better lit.
- A backlit screen uses more power than the original screen: battery life drops.
- The “No glass lens” variant does not include a protective lens: plan to reuse yours or fit a new one.
- The console is not supplied.

You open the Neo Geo Pocket Color, remove the original non-backlit screen, fit the IPS screen, connect the power supply and close it up. The console keeps its shell, but can finally be played in the evening, without a lamp pointed at the screen.
