Joystick Player: an arcade classic at the end of a joystick
The Joystick Player from My Arcade combines a joystick and a vertical color screen in a housing whose artwork draws on the original cabinet. Two licensed editions: PAC-MAN, on a 3.5-inch screen, and Galaga + Galaxian, on a 3.2-inch screen. It runs on 4 AA batteries or a USB-C cable, neither of which is included.
What it does
- Licensed games built in: PAC-MAN in classic and Speed-Up modes, or Galaga and Galaxian.
- Vertical color screen: 3.5 inches on the PAC-MAN edition, 3.2 inches on the Galaga + Galaxian edition.
- Adjustable brightness: on both editions.

The joystick front and center
On a handheld console, the D-pad stands in for the cabinet's joystick. The Joystick Player does the opposite: the joystick is the heart of the device, with a vertical color screen, the original orientation of PAC-MAN and Galaga. The housing artwork draws on the arcade cabinet, so you play as if you were standing in front of one.
Two editions, two classics
The PAC-MAN edition offers the game in classic or Speed-Up mode, on a 3.5-inch screen, and keeps high scores in memory. The Galaga + Galaxian edition brings together the 1981 shoot'em up and its predecessor, on a 3.2-inch screen. In both cases, the games are licensed and built in.
On batteries or USB-C, nothing else
The Joystick Player runs on 4 AA batteries or a USB-C cable, which you need to plan for as neither is in the box. It has no battery and no video output, and it does not plug into a console: it is a self-contained object, on a desk or in a bag. Consider rechargeable AA batteries if you play often.
