Smoke, leather and embers
Graves is a character made of smoke and leather: a gruff bounty hunter, a sawn-off shotgun, a cigar that never goes out. The set's artwork plays on exactly that material, between tobacco browns, smoke greys and the orange flashes of an ember. It is a warm, dirty palette, the opposite of the neon designs found on every gaming keyboard. It suits a black or anthracite case, a wooden desk, a warm lamp; on a white, cold keyboard the contrast turns harsher and the set shows more. A choice for players who find most gaming setups too loud and are after something earthier.
The matte grain, day to day
The surface starts from a matte grain, and that is what counts day to day on a dark palette: fingers leave fewer marks than on glossy plastic, and a dry cloth is enough to bring back the original look. PBT is denser than the ABS fitted as standard on most keyboards. The design itself is applied by dye-sublimation: heated, the dye penetrates the material instead of sitting on top of it. No raised layer, nothing to feel under the finger, no edge to chip. On the fitting side: MX cross-stem (Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, Outemu), OEM profile to be placed row by row, puller included, 12 keys on AZERTY as on QWERTY.
What the set does not claim to be
A matte grain is no guarantee of cleanliness: it limits marks, it does not make the keys immune to greasy hands or dust. Nor is it a complete set: 12 keys dress one area of the keyboard, and keys with a manufacturer-specific width are not covered. There is nothing to be done on a membrane keyboard or one with low-profile scissor-mechanism keys, which have no MX cross-stem, nor on a keyboard built in Cherry, XDA or SA profile. It is not a backlit set, dye-sublimated PBT being opaque. And it is not a licensed product: the Graves artwork is a creation inspired by the League of Legends universe, with no connection to the game's publisher.
