Clicky V2 kit: crisp clicks under your thumbs, on PS5 controller
The buttons of a PS5 controller rest on rubber membranes: a soft press, with no crisp feedback. The eXtremeRate Clicky V2 kit replaces them with microswitches with a sharp click, like on a mouse, on the face and shoulder buttons, and shortens the travel of the triggers (hair trigger). It is aimed at BDM-040, BDM-050 and BDM-060 controllers.
What it does
- Microswitches: crisp, audible click on the face and shoulder buttons.
- Short-travel triggers: the press registers earlier, without going to the end of the travel.
- Two actuation forces: 0.6 N for a light click, 1.2 N for a firm click.
What it doesn't do
- It is not suitable for BDM-010, BDM-020 and BDM-030 controllers, nor for the DualSense Edge.
- It is noisier than a membrane: each press produces an audible click.
- It adds no buttons and does not make the buttons remappable: it changes the feel, not the functions.
- The controller is not included: the kit is installed on yours.
Compatibility
Standard PS5 controllers, revisions BDM-040, BDM-050 and BDM-060. Not covered: BDM-010, BDM-020, BDM-030 (separate kits) and DualSense Edge. If you do not know your controller's revision, write to us before ordering.
Skill level required
Full disassembly of the controller, removal of the button boards and triggers. Have a precision Phillips screwdriver, plastic spudgers and fine-nose pliers ready. Advanced level: read the installation procedure for your revision before ordering.

The job: switching from membrane to click
A membrane squashes, a microswitch snaps. You open the controller, replace the original parts with those from the kit and close it up: every press becomes crisp and audible, like on a gaming mouse, and the triggers fire without going to the end of their travel.
The part: two actuation forces
eXtremeRate offers this kit in two stiffnesses. The light 0.6 N version triggers at the slightest press; the firm 1.2 N version requires a firmer press and limits accidental activations. The kit is designed for revisions BDM-040, 050 and 060: the other revisions have their own kit.
