Game Boy Player shell: a new base under your GameCube

The Game Boy Player attaches under the GameCube to display Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance cartridges on the TV. After twenty years, its case often shows scratches and marks. This BitFunx replacement shell reproduces the case of the DOL-017 model in six colours, to replace a damaged shell or to match it to a re-shelled GameCube.

What it does

• New case: replaces the shell of the Game Boy Player DOL-017.
• Six colours: translucent dark green, dark blue and purple, glacier blue, red and pink.
• Matching: lets you match the base to a GameCube whose shell has been changed.

What it doesn't do

• Shell only: no circuit board, no connector, and not the boot disc needed for the Game Boy Player to work.
• It does not repair a faulty Game Boy Player.
• It does not replace the shell of the GameCube itself.
• Transferring the components requires a full disassembly of the Game Boy Player.

Compatibility

Game Boy Player DOL-017, the model that attaches under the GameCube. Not covered: the GameCube shell and any other accessory.

Skill level required

No soldering. You need to disassemble the Game Boy Player and transfer the board, the connector and the internal parts into the new shell. Have a security-bit screwdriver suited to the screws of your Game Boy Player and a plastic spudger ready. Intermediate level.
