Akko MOG / MOA / MAO keycaps: change the look and feel of a mechanical keyboard without replacing it
A mechanical keyboard lasts for years; its keys, much less so: worn-off legends, shiny plastic, a flat profile that tires your wrists. This Akko set replaces the entire keyset with double-thickness PBT printed using 5-sided dye-sublimation, in the sculpted MOG, MOA or MAO profiles depending on the variant. The keyboard stays the same; the typing feel and your desk setup change.
What it does
- PBT instead of ABS: a more matte, harder material than the original ABS, it doesn't turn shiny after a few months of use.
- 5-sided dye-sublimation printing: the design is dyed into the material, including on the sides of the keys. It doesn't rub off, unlike a print applied to the surface.
- Sculpted MOG, MOA and MAO profiles: rows with different heights and angles, with a pronounced dip at the top of the key. Your finger re-centres by itself, which a flat profile doesn't do.
- ANSI and ISO in the same box: the keys specific to both layouts are supplied together, including for an AZERTY keyboard with a tall Enter key.
- 138 to 146 keys depending on the variant: enough to cover a full 104-key keyboard with keys to spare for replacements or customisation.
What it doesn't do
- It's not a keyboard. These are keycaps only: no case, no switches, no cable, no electronics.
- Doesn't let backlighting through. PBT is opaque and the legends are dyed, not cut out: on an RGB keyboard the light shows around the keys, never through the letters.
- Doesn't fit every keyboard. MX-style cross stems only. Membrane keyboards, laptops with scissor mechanisms, Topre and Alps are excluded.
- Not guaranteed to cover everything. 60%, 65% and 75% keyboards, and models with a split space bar or non-standard key widths, may need sizes not included in the set.
- Changes the typing height. These profiles are tall: on a keyboard without a wrist rest, you'll need a few days to readjust your hand position.
- It's not a console part. This set is for a PC keyboard, not a retro machine.
Compatibility
Compatible with mechanical keyboards whose switches have an MX cross stem: Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, Akko CS, TTC, Outemu and MX-stem clones. ANSI (US QWERTY, horizontal Enter) and ISO (French AZERTY, BÉPO, QWERTZ, tall Enter) layouts are covered by the same set. Not suitable for membrane keyboards, laptop keyboards, Topre and Alps mechanisms, or keyboards with proprietary non-MX stems. The exact number of keys depends on the variant chosen (138, 139, 140, 142, 144 or 146).
Skill level required
No soldering, no cutting tools, no keyboard disassembly. Remove the old keys with a keycap puller and fit the new ones by hand following the original layout. Allow 15 to 30 minutes for a full keyboard. A wire keycap puller costs a few euros and avoids scratching the case — get one if you don't have one, as pulling keys off by hand breaks switch stems.
In the box
- 1 Akko PBT keycap set, 138 to 146 keys depending on the variant ordered
- The set's ANSI and ISO keys, in a storage tray
No switches, no keyboard, and a keycap puller is not guaranteed: the set is sold on its own.

Keep the keyboard, change the keys
A good mechanical keyboard outlives three PCs. Its keys don't: the original ABS turns shiny, the painted legends wear away under your index and middle fingers, and after two years the setup looks tired even though the mechanics are intact. Replacing the keyset costs a fraction of a new keyboard and gives the machine a visual reset. It's also the only part of a keyboard you can change without a screwdriver or soldering iron.
PBT dyed through the material, not a print sitting on top
Akko makes its own keycap collections: double-thickness PBT rather than thin ABS, and dye-sublimation printing on five sides of the key. The dye penetrates the plastic instead of being deposited on the surface, which is why it doesn't rub off. The MOG, MOA and MAO profiles are sculpted row by row, with a pronounced dip at the top of the key: your finger re-centres by itself, and typing sounds louder and crisper than with flat keys.
What we tell you before you order
These keys don't light up: on an RGB keyboard, the light shows around them, never through the letters. They only fit MX stems — no membrane, no laptop, no Topre. The legends are US QWERTY, so on an AZERTY keyboard the printed letters won't match what the keyboard types: this is a set you buy for the look and feel, not for reading your keys. Finally, a compact keyboard or one with a split space bar may need sizes the set doesn't include.

Frequently Asked Questions
⌨️ Will this set fit my keyboard?
If your switches have an MX cross stem (Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, Akko CS, TTC, Outemu), yes. Membrane keyboards, laptop scissor-switch keyboards, Topre and Alps are excluded.
🇫🇷 Does it work on an AZERTY keyboard?
Yes. The set includes the ISO keys, including the large tall Enter key and the extra key to the left of the W. The legends are US QWERTY: on an AZERTY keyboard, the printed letters no longer match what the keyboard types.
💡 Do the legends light up on an RGB keyboard?
No. PBT is opaque and the printing is dyed into the material. The backlight shows around the keys, not through the characters.
🔤 What's the difference between the MOG, MOA and MAO profiles?
They are three sculpted Akko profiles with different heights and angles, all taller than a flat Cherry-type profile. The choice comes down to feel and the look of the set, not compatibility.
📦 How many keys are in the set?
From 138 to 146 depending on the variant. A full 104-key keyboard is covered, with keys to spare. Compact keyboards or those with a split space bar may need sizes not included in the set.
🧰 Do I need a tool to install it?
A wire keycap puller, not guaranteed to be in the box. Allow 15 to 30 minutes to replace a full keyboard. No soldering, no case disassembly.
🚚 What are the delivery times?
Delivery in 10 to 18 days, ships within 3 to 5 days.
🛡️ What warranty applies?
2-year legal guarantee of conformity. 14-day returns. French customer service, reply within 1 business day.
