Description complète
8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Xbox Edition: your phone becomes the console
This telescopic controller grips the phone between its two handles and turns it into a two-handed gaming machine. It is officially licensed by Xbox, fitted with Hall effect sticks and triggers, and rated at 13 hours of battery life. Designed for cloud gaming and for emulation on mobile.
What it does
- Hall effect sticks and triggers: contactless magnetic sensing, no stick drift from wear.
- Clamps from 100 to 170 mm: almost every current phone fits between the two handles.
- Official Xbox licence and support for Xbox cloud gaming.
- 2 programmable back paddles, on top of the standard controls.
- 300 mAh battery: 13 hours of play claimed for 1 h 30 of charging.
- Bluetooth LE 5.0 and full settings in Ultimate Software V2 — mapping, stick sensitivity, trigger ranges.
What it doesn't do
- Xbox cloud gaming requires a Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which is not included. Without that subscription, the controller remains perfectly usable for games installed on the phone and for emulation, but not for cloud gaming.
- It does not connect to an Xbox console: this is a controller for mobile devices, not for the home console.
- The manufacturer mentions neither vibration nor a gyroscope on this model.
- Neither Switch, nor Switch 2, nor Windows is in the stated compatibility.
- Supplied without games, in compliance with the law.
Compatibility
Stated by the manufacturer for Android 13 and above, iOS 18.5 and above, iPadOS 18.5 and above, tvOS 18.5 and above, macOS 15.5 and above and visionOS 2.4 and above. The phone must be between 100 and 170 mm long. Windows, Switch and Switch 2 are not covered.
Getting started
No disassembly, no soldering. Pull the two handles apart, slot the phone in, pair over Bluetooth. The mobile version of the Ultimate Software V2 app then lets you remap the buttons, adjust stick sensitivity and update the firmware.

The phone in the middle, your hands around it
Playing an emulator on a touchscreen means resting your thumbs on the very controls you are trying to look at. The telescopic controller solves that in one go: the phone slides between the two handles, the screen becomes fully visible again, and your fingers get back a D-pad and real buttons.
Hall effect on a pocket-sized controller
Mobile controllers are the ones you carry around most, so the ones that wear out fastest. 8BitDo has fitted Hall effect sticks and triggers, where nothing rubs: stick drift, which comes from a resistive track wearing down, has no reason to set in. That is this model's strongest argument.
Xbox licence: what it actually means
The official Xbox licence means the controller is recognised natively by the Xbox apps on mobile and that it supports cloud gaming. It does not mean it connects to a home console, nor that the subscription is included: Xbox cloud gaming requires a Game Pass Ultimate, to be taken out separately.

Why buy here rather than on a marketplace
It is a fair question. Here is the answer, straight.
Every listing is checked before publication: platforms actually supported, stick technology, connectivity, what the controller does not do. Many models never make it into the catalogue.
A question, a pairing problem, a return: you write, a human replies within 1 business day. In French.
The 2-year legal warranty of conformity is handled by us — not by a form on the other side of the world. And 14 days to change your mind, with no need to justify yourself.
We do not claim to be the cheapest. We claim that you will know exactly what you are buying before you pay.
