Description complète
8BitDo Arcade Controller: the leverless arcade stick, 2.2 cm thick
The Arcade Controller is 8BitDo's all-button controller: no lever, the directions are played on four buttons, as on tournament fighting-game controllers. 16 extra-flat Kailh Wizard mechanical switches on a hot-swap board, SOCD cleaning and tournament lock, all in a 301 × 201 × 22 mm housing. Two versions: Switch and PC or Xbox and PC.
What it does
- All-button layout: four buttons for the directions, for inputs that are faster and more precise than with a lever according to the manufacturer.
- 16 extra-flat Kailh Wizard switches: mounted on a hot-swap board: they can be replaced with other compatible switches.
- SOCD and tournament lock: SOCD modes adjustable in the 8BitDo Ultimate software, lock to avoid accidental presses in competition.
- Programmable buttons: P1 to P4 on the Switch and PC version, P1 and P2 on the Xbox version, with 4 flat caps to disable them.
- Independent control panel: dial and click to set the mode, the volume and the button mapping without key combinations.
- Tempered glass front: smudge-resistant, folding magnetic metal feet with two angles and a non-slip silicone mat.
What it doesn't do
- No lever: this is an all-button controller. Your fingers have to relearn the directions, which takes some adjusting if you are coming from a classic stick.
- Each version is limited to its own platforms: the Switch and PC version does not work on Xbox, the Xbox version does not work on Switch.
- The Xbox version has no Bluetooth: wireless only through the 2.4 GHz adapter included, or wired.
- No PlayStation console is stated, on either version. Mac and Android do not appear in the manufacturer's compatibility list either.
- Extra-flat does not mean light: 1,097 g for the Switch and PC version, 1,123 g for the Xbox version.
- 8BitDo's upgrade kit (16 linear switches, 16 caps, puller and wrist rest) is sold separately.
Compatibility
Switch and PC version: Switch from system 3.0.0 and Switch 2 from system 20.1.1 over Bluetooth or wired; Windows 10 (1903) and above through the 2.4 GHz adapter included or wired. Xbox and PC version, officially licensed by Xbox: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10 and 11, wireless through the 2.4 GHz adapter included or wired. No PlayStation console, no Mac and no Android stated.

The tournament format, without the lever
All-button controllers are widespread in fighting-game tournaments: the directions on four buttons give cleaner inputs than a lever. 8BitDo offers a version 2.2 cm thick, with SOCD cleaning and a tournament lock. You have to accept a few sessions of adjustment before you find your combos again.
Two versions, two console families
The Switch and PC version connects over Bluetooth to the Switch and the Switch 2, and over 2.4 GHz to Windows. The Xbox version, officially licensed, goes through the 2.4 GHz adapter on Xbox Series, Xbox One and Windows, and adds RGB lighting and a headphone jack. Neither works on the other's consoles.
A controller you can upgrade
The 16 Kailh Wizard switches are mounted on a hot-swap board: they can be replaced without soldering. The 8BitDo Ultimate software handles mapping, SOCD modes and updates. The programmable buttons can be disabled with the flat caps included, and 8BitDo's upgrade kit is sold separately.

Frequently Asked Questions
🎮 Which version should I choose?
The Switch and PC version works on Switch and Switch 2 over Bluetooth or wired, and on Windows through the 2.4 GHz adapter or wired. The Xbox and PC version works on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows, through the 2.4 GHz adapter or wired. Neither one crosses from one console family to the other.
🕹️ What is an all-button controller?
An arcade stick without a lever: the four directions are buttons. It is a layout favoured in fighting games for the speed and precision of the inputs, but it takes time to learn.
🔋 How long does the battery last?
According to the manufacturer: 20 hours over Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz on the Switch and PC version (1,000 mAh battery, 3 h charge); 20 hours with RGB lighting on and 40 hours with it off on the Xbox version (3,000 mAh battery, 4 h charge).
🔧 Can the switches be changed?
Yes. The board is hot-swap: the 16 extra-flat Kailh Wizard switches can be replaced with compatible switches without soldering. The 8BitDo upgrade kit is sold separately.
⚖️ What is SOCD?
It is the rule applied when two opposite directions are pressed at the same time. The 8BitDo Ultimate software lets you change the SOCD mode, and a tournament lock prevents accidental presses.
🎧 Is there a headphone jack?
The Xbox version has a 3.5 mm jack with volume control. The manufacturer does not list a jack in the specifications of the Switch and PC version.
🚚 What are the delivery times?
Delivery in 10 to 18 days, ships within 3 to 5 days. Above €150, delivery is to a pickup point.
🛡️ What guarantee applies?
2-year legal guarantee of conformity. 14-day returns.
Why buy here rather than on a marketplace
It is a fair question. Here is the answer, straight.
Every listing is checked before publication: platforms actually supported, stick technology, connectivity, what the controller does not do. Many models never make it into the catalogue.
A question, a pairing problem, a return: you write, a human replies within 1 business day. In French.
The 2-year legal warranty of conformity is handled by us — not by a form on the other side of the world. And 14 days to change your mind, with no need to justify yourself.
We do not claim to be the cheapest. We claim that you will know exactly what you are buying before you pay.
