SPR-003 battery: a 3DS XL that holds its charge again

The original battery of a 3DS XL eventually loses its capacity: the console shuts down quickly, or not at all away from the mains. This new SPR-003 battery, 3.7 V lithium-ion, replaces it. The manufacturer states 2000 mAh, and a screwdriver set is supplied to open the console. Before ordering, check the reference printed on your battery: it must read SPR-003.

What it does

• The 2000 mAh capacity is the one stated by the manufacturer: actual battery life depends on the console, the brightness and the game.

• It does not repair a faulty charging port, charging board or charger: if the console does not charge, the battery is not necessarily to blame.

Compatibility

3DS XL. For any other model, rely on the reference printed on your original battery: if it reads SPR-003, it is the right part. If it reads CTR-003 (3DS, 2DS), it is not.

Skill level required

You need to remove the console's back cover with the screwdriver supplied, take out the old battery and fit the new one in its place. No soldering. Beginner level. Take the old battery to a collection point.
