The 2,4 GHz dongle, its real strength
The headset connects through a USB-A dongle. The PS5, the PS4, a PC and the Switch in its dock see it as a USB sound card: plug it in, it works, with no pairing and no settings. The latency stated by EKSA is under 30 ms. It is also the only way to get wireless sound on PlayStation, which does not carry audio over Bluetooth.
36 hours, but with the LED off
The 1500 mAh battery gives up to 36 hours with the lighting switched off. EKSA drops to 18-20 hours when the LEDs are on: that is half the gap. A full charge takes 2 h 30 through the USB-C port, and 10 minutes of charging gives back around 3 hours of use. If battery life matters, the first setting to change is turning the LEDs off.
What it doesn't do
It does not deliver true 7.1. The spatial effect comes from the EKSA SoundBase driver, which only installs on Windows: on PS5, PS4 and Switch, you hear stereo. It has no Bluetooth. It has no ANC: ENC noise reduction only concerns the mic, not what you hear. And on Xbox, you have to go through the 3,5 mm jack cable.

Does this headset work on PS5?
Yes, through the 2,4 GHz USB dongle. The PS5 recognizes it as a USB audio device, with no particular setting. The 3,5 mm jack mode on the DualSense controller works too.
Does 7.1 sound work on console?
No. The 7.1 is a software simulation handled by the EKSA SoundBase driver, available only for Windows. On PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, output is stereo.
How long does the battery last?
EKSA states 36 hours with the lighting off, and 18 to 20 hours with the LEDs on. The battery is 1500 mAh, a full charge takes 2 h 30, and 10 minutes of charging gives back around 3 hours of use.
Can it be used on Xbox?
Only wired, with the 3,5 mm jack cable plugged into the controller. The 2,4 GHz dongle is not recognized by Xbox consoles.
Does it have active noise cancelling (ANC)?
No. The ENC technology processes the mic so the people you talk to hear you better. It does not damp ambient noise in your ears: isolation comes from the earpads alone.
Is it Bluetooth compatible?
No. The only two modes are 2,4 GHz through the USB dongle and wired 3,5 mm jack. There is no Bluetooth on this model.
