What the cloth surface changes about glide
The surface is a micro-textured cloth. On this type of weave, the mouse starts without any marked resistance and stops without harsh grip: it is an in-between surface, sitting between so-called “speed” pads with a very smooth weave and “control” pads with a thick, braking weave. PopMyPad publishes neither the weight nor the density of the weave, so we cannot put a figure on friction. What is verifiable: the surface is identical across the whole 900 × 400 mm, so the glide does not change when the mouse travels from one edge to the other, and the weave accepts optical sensors as well as laser sensors. The rest depends on your sensitivity and on the condition of your mouse feet.
The base, the edges and the lifespan
The underside is textured natural rubber, across the whole surface and not just around the edge. That is what holds the pad in place when you push the mouse across the desk. On a clean desktop it stays put; on a dusty or greasy glass desktop, grip drops. That is normal rubber behavior, not a manufacturing defect. All four sides are closed with an overlock stitch that encases the edge of the cloth: the usual protection against fraying, right where the forearm rubs the most. PopMyPad does not state the width of this stitching or the number of stitches per centimeter, and we are not putting a figure of our own in its place.
What it does not do
It does not arrive flat: it ships rolled up, and the corners lift for a few hours to a few days before they relax. It does not go in the washing machine: PopMyPad states hand washing in lukewarm water with a mild soap, drying flat, and advises against the tumble dryer. It will not improve your aim, a pad provides an even surface and nothing more, and it does not make up for worn mouse feet. It is not backlit: the neon green is printed, there is no LED and no RGB. Finally, the neon green reaper design is an illustration from the PopMyPad catalogue: it is not an officially licensed product and we make no licensing claim.

What size and what thickness will I receive?
Four choices when ordering: 900 × 400 mm in 2 mm, 900 × 400 mm in 3 mm, 1000 × 500 mm in 3 mm and 1000 × 550 mm in 3 mm. The price shown first is for the 2 mm version: the 3 mm announced in the title is an option you have to select.
Does the pad arrive flat?
No, it ships rolled up. Unrolled and left flat, it relaxes within a few hours to a few days depending on the room temperature. Putting books on the corners overnight speeds things up.
Can I machine wash it?
PopMyPad states hand washing: lukewarm water, mild soap, light rubbing, rinsing, then flat air drying. The brand advises against the tumble dryer. We have no data on how the print holds up after several machine washes, so we do not recommend them.
Will the edges fray?
All four sides are stitched: the overlock encases the edge of the cloth, the usual protection against fraying. PopMyPad publishes neither the width of the stitching, nor the number of stitches, nor the weight of the fabric: we cannot put a figure on its durability.
Does it stay put on a glass desk?
The base is textured natural rubber and covers the entire underside. On a clean and dry glass top, it grips. On a dusty or greasy top, grip drops: that is normal rubber behavior, a wipe with a cloth is enough to restore it.
Does the neon green glow?
No. The design is printed into the fibre, there is no LED and no RGB backlighting. The neon effect comes from the contrast between the green and the dark background. PopMyPad gives no measurement of light fastness: like any printed textile, it will fade if it is left in full sunlight.
Is the design taken from a game or a comic?
No. “Faucheur” here refers to the classic figure of the Grim Reaper, hood and scythe, in the public domain. The illustration comes from the PopMyPad catalogue, it does not reproduce any existing character and we make no licensing claim.
