Full Hall Effect at an entry-level price
The X05 puts Hall effect sensors in the four places that wear out: both sticks and both triggers. That is rare at this price. The concrete result: your character doesn't drift off to one side after a year, and the triggers keep a full analog travel. The dead zone can be set down to zero from the controller itself, which makes a real difference to micro-adjustments when aiming. Three connection modes are available: 2.4 GHz with the supplied receiver, Bluetooth and wired USB-C.
750 mAh, and the RGB helps itself
The battery is 750 mAh, where pricier models go up to 1,000 or 1,500 mAh. That figure matters because the lighting and the rumble draw straight from it. In its test, PCGamesN measured around four hours with the light rings on and rumble at full, and around eight hours with the RGB off and rumble reduced to 25%. Both settings are made with button combinations, no software. If you play long sessions, get into the habit of turning both of those down.
What it isn't
This is not a pro controller: there are no back paddles at all, so no extra buttons to assign. No gyroscope either, so motion aiming in Switch games is out of reach. No 3.5 mm headphone jack and no microphone. No PC software: every setting goes through the controller. The plastic has no soft-touch coating, which makes it more slippery than high-end models. And like most third-party controllers, it works on neither Xbox nor PlayStation.

Why this controller is in our catalogue
We check every controller before listing it. Many never make it in.
Every controller is checked before it enters the catalogue: the platforms it really works on, the technology of its sticks, what it does not do. Many models never make it in, because they do not live up to what they announce. What this one can do, and where it stops, is detailed further down this page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are there programmable back buttons?
No. The X05 has no back paddles at all. If you're after extra buttons, look at the D05 or the D10, which each offer two.
Does it work on Steam Deck?
Yes. EasySMX lists the Steam Deck in its official compatibility list, alongside Windows, the Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS.
How long does the battery last?
EasySMX does not state a runtime. The battery is 750 mAh. In testing, PCGamesN measured around 4 hours with RGB and rumble at maximum, and around 8 hours with the lighting off and the rumble turned down.
Can you remove the sticks' dead zone?
Yes. The X05 lets you set the dead zone down to zero directly from the controller. That is useful because the default value makes the centre of the stick unresponsive.
Is there a gyroscope for motion aiming?
No, the X05 does not carry a gyroscope. Aiming is done with the sticks only.
Can you plug a headset into it?
No. There is neither a 3.5 mm jack nor a microphone. Sound has to go through the PC, the console or the phone.
