CTR-003 battery: a 3DS or 2DS that holds its charge again

After years of use, the battery of a 3DS or 2DS loses capacity: the console shuts down quickly or won't start off the charger. This new CTR-003 battery, 3.7 V lithium-ion, replaces the original one. The manufacturer states 2000 mAh. Before ordering, check the reference printed on your battery: it must read CTR-003.

What it does

• CTR-003 reference: same format as the original 3DS and 2DS battery.
• 3.7 V lithium-ion: the voltage the console expects.
• 2000 mAh stated: capacity stated by the manufacturer.

What it doesn't do

• The 2000 mAh capacity is the one stated by the manufacturer: actual battery life depends on the console, the brightness and the game.
• It is not suitable for consoles that use an SPR-003 battery, such as the 3DS XL: a dedicated battery is available in our catalogue.
• It does not fix a faulty charging port, charging board or charger: if the console doesn't charge, the battery is not necessarily the cause.
• The package contains the battery or batteries only: you will need a small Phillips screwdriver.

Compatibility

3DS and 2DS. For any other model, go by the reference printed on your original battery: if it reads CTR-003, this is the right part. If it reads SPR-003 (3DS XL), it is not.

Skill level

You need to remove the console's back cover with a small Phillips screwdriver, take out the old battery and fit the new one in its place. No soldering. Beginner level. Take the old battery to a collection point.
