Two cables, two uses
The E900 Pro connects in two ways, and both cables are detachable. Over USB on a PC it becomes its own sound card and unlocks virtual 7.1. Over the 3,5 mm jack it works on a PS5, PS4 or Xbox controller, on a Switch or on a phone, in stereo. A headphone / mic splitter is included for computers with two separate sockets.
Aluminium headband, replaceable ear pads
The frame is aluminium, not plastic. The ear pads, faux leather over memory foam, come off and can be replaced: they are the first part of a headset to wear out. On the audio side, EKSA states 50 mm drivers, 20 Hz – 20 kHz, 32 Ω and 118 ± 3 dB, with a detachable boom mic at −42 ± 3 dB.
What it doesn't do
The 7.1 is not in the headset. It is in a driver, EKSA SoundBase, which only exists for Windows, is downloaded from Google Drive and which EKSA declares incompatible with Windows 8. Without it, and on PS5, PS4, Xbox, Switch or Mac, the headset is stereo. It does not cut ambient noise either: the stated noise reduction applies to the mic.

Does the EKSA E900 Pro's 7.1 work on PS5?
No. The 7.1 depends on the EKSA SoundBase driver, which only exists for Windows. On PS5, PS4, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, the headset runs in stereo.
Where exactly is the 7.1?
Neither in the headset nor in a dongle: in a piece of software to download from the EKSA site. You also have to be connected over USB; the 3,5 mm jack cannot carry this processing.
Does the driver work on Windows 8 or on Mac?
No. EKSA states that its drivers, apart from the E910, do not work on Windows 8, and offers none for macOS. The file is hosted on Google Drive and is not digitally signed.
Does the headset cancel ambient noise?
No, it has no ANC. The stated noise reduction applies to the mic, to clean up your voice. Isolation comes only from the closed ear cups.
Which cables are included?
A USB cable for the computer, a 3,5 mm jack cable for consoles and mobile, and a headphone / mic splitter. Both cables are detachable, as is the mic.
What is the headband made of?
