The star dragon on twelve keys
Aurelion Sol does not play like an ordinary mage: he claims the map, traces his stars and leaves a trail behind him. That is the idea the set's artwork picks up, between constellations, deep blues and the golden glints of a celestial dragon. On a black keyboard everything blends into the case and only the printed keys stand out; on a white keyboard the contrast is sharper and the design reads from across the room. The set is aimed at players who like dark setups and luminous accents: an LED strip behind the screen, a cosmic wallpaper, dimmed light. Twelve keys are enough to set that tone without rebuilding the whole keyboard.
Dye-sublimated PBT and the backlight
One question always comes up with a set this dark: what happens to the backlight? Dye-sublimated PBT is opaque. Light does not pass through the legends; it escapes around the keycap and forms a halo beneath each key: the effect remains, the colour of the design does not change. Everything else is standard. MX cross-stem, which covers Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh and Outemu: pull off a key and the raised cross is visible on the switch. The OEM profile follows the row-by-row angle of pre-built mechanical keyboards, so each cap goes back on an equivalent row. The supplied puller slides in diagonally, then pulls straight up. The 12 keys can be placed freely, on AZERTY as on QWERTY.
What this set will not light up
This set lights nothing up: dye-sublimated PBT is opaque, no legend glows, and the lighting effect comes from the keyboard, not from the keys. Nor does it cover the whole keyboard: 12 keys dress one area, and keys with a manufacturer-specific width are not covered. It cannot be fitted to a membrane keyboard or to a keyboard with low-profile scissor-mechanism keys, which have no MX cross-stem. The OEM profile does not match a build in Cherry, XDA or SA profile. Finally, the Aurelion Sol artwork is a creation inspired by the League of Legends universe: it is not a licensed product, nor an item connected to the game's publisher.

Will this set fit my keyboard?
It all comes down to the MX cross-stem. Pull off one keycap: if the switch shows a raised cross, the 12 keycaps clip straight on. That covers Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh and Outemu. A membrane keyboard, or one with low-profile scissor-mechanism keys, is out of scope.
What exactly do I get?
The stated contents are 12 keycaps and a puller. The keys are standard size and you place them where you like; keys with a manufacturer-specific width are not covered.
Does the Aurelion Sol palette work on a white keyboard?
It does, just differently. On a black case the deep blues blend in and only the printed keys stand out; on a white case the break is sharp and the set becomes a dark block in the middle of the keyboard. Both hold up, it comes down to taste.
Do the designs light up with the backlight?
No. Dye-sublimated PBT is opaque: RGB draws a halo around each keycap, it does not shine through the dragon or the stars.
What does the artwork actually show?
A design inspired by the celestial dragon and its constellations, drawn key by key: not one portrait cut into twelve pieces, but a series of visuals sharing the same palette. The level of detail comes from the dye-sublimation process, which prints into the material.
Is this set official?
