Sticks that don't drift
This is the real selling point of this controller. Classic sticks use contact potentiometers: the track wears out, and your character eventually starts moving on its own. That's the drift well known from Joy-Con and DualSense. The PGR300 uses Hall effect sensors, which measure a magnetic field with no friction at all. There is nothing in the sensing mechanism that can wear out.
Three connection modes, and when to use each
Bluetooth 5.0 is for your phone, tablet and Nintendo Switch. The 2.4 GHz radio is for PC: it holds a more stable link than Bluetooth when several wireless devices share the band. The USB-C cable steps in when the battery is empty, or when you want to remove any radio latency. Acer states 25 hours of battery life and buttons tested for 3 million presses.
What it isn't
This is not a competitive controller with paddles: no rear buttons, no profile software, no 3.5 mm headset jack. It is not an Xbox or PlayStation controller either: those consoles are not on Acer's list. On Switch it does not read amiibo and does not reproduce Nintendo's HD Rumble. Finally, Acer publishes the battery life but not the battery capacity.

Do Hall effect sticks really prevent drift?
They remove the most common cause. A conventional stick reads position through physical contact on a resistive track that wears down. A Hall effect sensor measures a magnetic field without contact: there is no track to wear out. Dirt or an impact can still disturb the mechanism, but drift caused by wear disappears.
Does it work on PS5 or on Xbox?
No. Acer documents Windows 10+, Android 9+, iOS 14.5+ and Nintendo Switch 3.0.0+. PlayStation and Xbox consoles do not accept third-party controllers without an approved adapter.
What is the difference between 2.4 GHz mode and Bluetooth?
The 2.4 GHz radio goes through a dedicated receiver and stays more stable on PC, especially if a wireless keyboard and mouse already occupy the band. Bluetooth 5.0 avoids taking up a USB port and suits phones, tablets and the Switch.
Can you play wired while charging?
Yes. The USB-C cable lets you play with the controller plugged in. Acer does point out that the mains charger is not included: use a USB port on your PC or an adapter you already own.
Does it have programmable rear buttons?
No. The PGR300 has 16 buttons on the front and along the edges, with no rear paddles. If physical remapping is a deal-breaker for you, look at a controller with paddles.
Does it read amiibo on Nintendo Switch?
No. NFC amiibo reading and HD Rumble remain reserved for the Joy-Con and Nintendo's Pro Controller.
