Tapis de travail en silicone antistatique à compartiments et alvéoles pour ranger vis et petites pièces
Description complète

Silicone soldering mat: the table protected, the screws where they belong

Opening a handheld console on the corner of a desk means losing two screws out of three and leaving an iron mark on the furniture. This flexible silicone mat withstands the heat of the iron, does not build up static electricity and keeps every part in its compartment during disassembly.

What it does

  • Protects the work surface: the silicone withstands solder splashes and brief contact with the tip without marking the desk underneath.
  • Sorts screws by step: the moulded compartments keep shell, board and ribbon cable screws apart — the S-140, S-150 and S-160C models are magnetic as well.
  • Limits static electricity: the surface does not charge up through friction, unlike a plastic tablecloth or a towel.
  • Cleans with a sponge: silicone absorbs neither flux nor isopropyl alcohol, so a wipe with a cloth is enough between repairs.

What it doesn't do

  • The S-100 model is not magnetic: it has the compartments, not the magnets. If you want the screws to stay put, choose the S-140, S-150 or S-160C.
  • This is not a professional ESD mat: it has no snap fastener, no cord and no grounding wrist strap. It prevents static build-up, it does not discharge it to earth.
  • The supplier does not state a certified maximum temperature. Always put the iron back in its stand: the mat withstands brief contact, not a tip left lying on it.
  • The exact dimensions of each model are not confirmed by the supplier — to be confirmed before ordering if you are working in a specific space.
  • No tools are supplied: no screwdriver, no spudger, no soldering iron.

Compatibility

The mat does not plug into anything: it serves as a work surface for any disassembly. Retro handheld and home consoles, controllers, motherboards, smartphones, mechanical keyboards. It is just as suitable for replacing an IPS screen as for a simple shell or battery swap.

Skill level required

None. It is a workbench accessory: you roll it out, put the console on it and get started. There is nothing to install, nothing to solder, nothing to configure. It is rather the item you buy before your first repair.

In the box

  • 1 silicone work mat, in the selected model (S-100, S-140, S-150 or S-160C).

The screw you never find again

A 90s handheld console means around ten screws in three different lengths, and it only takes one rolling under the furniture for reassembly to go wrong. The mat's moulded compartments let you set down each group of screws in disassembly order: back shell, shield, board, ribbon cables. On the S-140, S-150 and S-160C models, the built-in magnets hold them in place even if you move the mat. Nothing spectacular, but it is the difference between a repair finished in an hour and an evening spent searching the floor.

Silicone, not a towel

Many tinkerers work on a tea towel or a sheet of paper. Fabric builds up static electricity at the slightest friction, and paper catches fire when a drop of solder falls on it. Silicone does neither: it withstands splashes and brief contact with the tip, and it absorbs neither flux nor isopropyl alcohol. A wipe with a sponge and the mat is ready for the next repair.

What it doesn't replace

We would rather say it before you buy: this mat is not a certified ESD workstation. It has no snap fastener, no cord and no anti-static wrist strap to connect to earth. It prevents the surface from charging up, it does not discharge anything. If you regularly handle sensitive motherboards, keep a grounding wrist strap as well. The supplier does not provide a certified maximum temperature either: we state it as unverified rather than making up a figure.

Frequently Asked Questions

🧲 What is the difference between the available models?

The S-140, S-150 and S-160C are magnetic: the screws stay stuck in the compartments. The S-100 has the same compartments but no magnets. This is the only difference confirmed by the supplier.

🔥 Can I rest my soldering iron on it?

The silicone withstands brief contact and solder splashes. However, the supplier does not certify any maximum temperature: always put the iron back in its stand, never rest it on the mat.

⚡ Is it a real ESD mat?

No. The surface does not charge up through friction, which is enough for most console repairs. But there is no snap fastener, no cord and no grounding wrist strap: it does not discharge static to earth.

🎮 Which machines can I use it with?

All of them. It is not an accessory that plugs in: retro handheld and home consoles, controllers, motherboards, mechanical keyboards, smartphones. It serves as a work surface, nothing more.

📏 What are the exact dimensions?

The supplier does not confirm them model by model. We would rather say so than display a made-up figure: if you work in a very tight space, write to us before ordering.

📦 What's in the box?

One silicone work mat, in the selected model. No tools are included: no screwdriver, no spudger, no soldering iron.

🚚 What are the delivery times?

Delivery in 10 to 18 days, ships within 3 to 5 days. French-speaking customer service, reply within 1 business day.

🛡️ Which guarantee applies?

2-year legal guarantee of conformity. 14-day returns from receipt. Listing verified on 19 August 2026.
